Firecry, and Cloudshadow had found refuge at the outskirts of the feast area. At that point there was no place for him to be. Of course Cloudshadow could have stayed with the rest of the tribemates but she had chosen to remain with her lovemate. Her love for Firecry was more important. She leaned on Firecry, seeking solace in the touch of their shoulders. The two had remained quiet for a long time, both lost in their own thoughts.
Bloodcut had been sneaking around the feast area trying to find any elves not intently involved in the current events. She had seen Claw challenge the wolf-bloods for leadership. That had been enough to make Bloodcut turn away. She didn't want to have anything to do with that. She had seen a group of CotO elves approach the food tents area with weapons. Another place she didn't want to be. At last she found her original tribemate. There was a heavy air around the two but at least it seemed better than the options. So she decided to join them. "Quite the day, wouldn't you say?" She had a small smile on face, which was very like, but the roll of her eyes betrayed the sarcasm of her words.

OOC: Gerlin has put Rainblossom in the "Watch for Wolves"-thread so place delete her name from this post. I'll reply with Firecry in a little bit (posting on the train to work and today will be a busy day so I might not be able to post during my lunch break).

"You could say that," Firecry answered, cuddling closer to his lovemate. "What have you been up to? Do you know what this latest commotion is about?"
OOC: Website has Firecry and Cloudshadow listed as lovemates. Which suits then best do you think?

Rainblossom was glad she had brought her bow and had her quiver filled with new arrows. Quickly, she strung her bow, Ironpaw guarding her back. Nocking an arrow she searched for target. It felt wrong to kill an elf, wounding the attackers so they could attack no more should be the way to go, she decided. While others fled, she could help defend them. ~** Firecry!**~, Rainblossom sent, hoping her brother was within sending range. She desperately needed to tell him what was happening here.

Firecry was about to say something more to Bloodcut, when his sister's sending reached him. "My sister! Something is very, very wrong! I must go to her!"

Cloudshadow's eyes widened at her lovemate's exclamation.
Bloodcut didn't have time to tell of her finding before Firecry already talked. "Wrong indeed!" She agreed with exaggerated movement of hands, leaving some space of doubt on her agreement. "Claw challenged the wolf-bloods. It seems some High One appeared and took the wolf pups as hostage. Along strangling the storyteller." Her manner of speech was factual.
Cloudshadow stood up. **Yes, let's go! In haste!** She could not believe what Bloodcut had just told, but there was no reason for the elfess to lie. Although it all sounded unbelievable, Claw wanting to be the chieftain of the wolf-blood tribe and there being a High One?

Firecry was already on his feet, sprinting toward where his sister's sending had come from. He at least had the presence of mind to send ~**Thank you, lovemate,**~ to Cloudshadow before his mind was taken over by worries for Rainblossom.
OOC: Moving Firecry to the Watch for Wolves thread in a little bit.

Bloodcut looked after the two running backs. She had no interest in the matter. She would just stay away. She jumped a bit when suddenly something wet touched her hand. It was Shinefur's nose. "What do you want?" She asked, not so kindly. The wolf was anxious, and showed need to go after the two elves, where the wolf pups were taken hostage. "What, you want to help? Go, go! I don't care." The elfess muttered and motioned with her hand for the wolf to be off. And it did take off. With that out of her hands Bloodcut returned to her own situation. *Now where could I just wait in peace for all this to be over...*

**This is your First Chief speaking, hear me!** Palepelt sending was an open one, touching all minds within the camp's boatders, but she was clearly addressing only her fellow Children of the Oaks.
**Our tribemates are sick, terribly sick through the High One's magic.** Her grief, rage and fear were palpable behind her words. **Many of us have been forced to do the unthinkable today - fight and even kill our own kin! To stop this bloodshed I order you all to flee this place, to the safery of hje Oaks. I and a few of our warriors will remain here, to tend to the sick once they gain there senses back.**
The pause in her sending held a lot of meaning, telegraphing that there were more orders to come; unpleasant ones. **The wolf-bloods are the root of our tribemates' sickness,** Palepelt sent, with much conviction. **I know this is a great burden I am looking to give to you, but I must ask that volunteers - and only volunteers - acompany the wolf-bloods from this place. I need you to keep them away from lands were we wander, to make sure none of our sick lay eyes upon them and force them to become violent and unreasonable again.**
Her words held grief and finality. **I will find you and bring you back to us, this I swear to you. Know that you will be making a great sacrifice to protect our children and their children. Songs will be sung about you for uncountable years to come.**
Palepelt's next sending was stony and full of forced calm. **Any volunteer, reply to me in lock-sending so I know of your sacrifice. All others, run towards the Oaks!**

**I volunteer, my chief!**, Wasp sent to Palepelt, not waiting for Tracker's reply. **I will go too**, Tracker added, **To end the bloodshed** He didn't want to chase the wolfblooded elves away, but it seemed for the best, for both tribes.

Bloodcut was alone. For short time she had found refuge with the Branch of Stars. Palepelt's words made it clear that she was no longer welcome. Maybe it was possible that her new tribemates of Stars would stand up for her but would the rest of the CotO be able to accept even one elf of wolf-blood? And she had Shinefur, whether she liked it or not. The bond would follow her. She heard the sound of approaching footsteps, not of animal but that of elves. More than one of them. She didn't wish to stay to see who was coming. Either way, it didn't bode well for her. She slid into the shadows of a nearby tent and with caution took her leave.

OOC: Would you like more interaction with someone to motivate Bloodcut further to leave with the survivors? I could bring Eclipse into this thread, he's currently in none of them. Or I could bring in one of the CotO NPCs.
