Personality: It’s almost rare to see Bloodcut without at least a hint of a smile. She hangs around the holt, always trying to find someone to accompany. On the other hand she tries to avoid getting in deep conversations. She can’t handle others’ problems, much less their strong emotions. At no time does she speak of her inner thoughts and feelings. Even now she bears a calmness around her, which she had as a youth. She likes cubs but refuses to be left alone in charge of even one of them. One of her best traits is that she doesn’t judge anyone. On the other hand she’s bad at stopping fights and oftentimes even unwilling to do so. Bloodcut carries a scent of her own blood because of dying her hair.
Likes: The taste of blood (literally), being around elves, small talk, to have company overnight (furmates and other), red berries (especially cowberries)
Dislikes: Getting wet, swimming, to hunt, bears (no hate, just dislike), the scent of sickness/death (but not blood)
Fears: To be a mother, see nightmare’s of her father’s death, wake alone after seeing one of those nightmares, being alone/feeling lonely, to be hated by others, to displease, to fail, to Recognize

Appearance: 3’5” Bloodcut’s really short for someone wolf-blooded. Her body is petite but she has a good control over it. She has long and slender fingers, which partly explains her talent in making rather complex and small weaving works. Her complexion is cinnamon light brown.
Marks/Scars: Small cuts all over her lower arms, because of getting blood to dye her hair.
Hair: Straight, light brownish yellow hair which reaches her shoulder blades. Her fore hair reaches her chin and most of it hangs on the right side of her face. She dyes it red with her own blood (thus the cuts on her arms) and the blood makes it stiff. She generally keeps her hair lose.
Eyes: She has roundish eyes with light lashes. Her eyes are generally gray as liquid mercury but hints of light blue and olive green can be seen in them under some lights.
Clothes: (All of her clothes must have a hood so she can cover her hair when it’s raining.)
~Warm seasons: A reddish purple sleeveless, baggy, shirt with a hood. The helm reaches about where her thighs start. She has a dark brown belt loosely around her waist. She has dark blue pants with wide hems. The pants cover her knees. In feet she has little leather shoes with turned sides around ankles. (Oftentimes she can be barefoot.)
~Cold seasons: A medium green, long sleeved, baggy turtleneck shirt with a hood. Over her pants she has a skirt that is attached together from the sides with long stitches (leaves feet showing from the sides) from her waist to knees. The skirt itself goes almost all the way down (her ankles do show). Her shoes have been changed to mid-calf boots.
Jewelry: None

History: Bloodcut’s mother, Sweetlight, died after giving birth to her and thus Bloodcut was raised by her father. After birth she was given the name PreciousLife. Around the time Bloodcut turned 30 her father suggested to her a new name of Calmwind mirroring her calm nature with the wind-like talent to move quickly without being seen or heard.
Shortly after Bloodcut had been born, disputes erupted in the tribe because of the chief Listener’s strange behaviors. The tribe was pretty much divided in two parties, supporters of Listener and supporters of Smoothwater. Windrun, the tribe’s hunt leader and Bloodcut’s father, was on Smoothwater’s side. Smoothwater challenged Listener for the chieflock but lost. When Bloodcut was only 5 turns old, Smoothwater and his supporters left the tribe. This group settled by a clear river and took the name of Riverbench Tribe with Smoothwater as their chief. Windrun kept his position as the hunt leader.
Windrun taught his daughter to defend herself and hunting skills. He didn’t take her to actual huntings as a cub but used the outskirts of the holt to teach her all the necessary skills to hunt well, like tracking and moving with care and in silence. Even as a cub Bloodcut was considered short so Windrun decided upon spear as the best weapon for his daughter. When Bloodcut reached the age of 65 turns, Windrun took her out on her first hunt. They went, just the two of us, with the thought of catching a rabbit or another easy prey. Unfortunately they happened to cross too near a mother-bear’s den and the protective she-bear attacked them to scare them away. Being an overprotective father, Windrun stood against her to give Bloodcut time to run away. Bloodcut ran away and thought her father would follow her the minute she was far enough. After running a while she stopped as there had been no sound behind her. ~**I’m safe**~ She sent to her father but got no reply except a roar of a faraway bear. In panic she ran back to where she had come and found her father dead, killed by the mother-bear. The bear had most probably taken her cub and left in search for a new safe den. Bloodcut crouched down to look at her father’s cold face. The sudden realization left her empty. In silence she said her farewell and gave him a hug. In doing so she soaked her hair in his fresh blood. She picked up an armful of fallen leaves, twigs and pebbles and sprinkled them on Windrun’s body. That is how she left her father in the forest’s embrace.
She returned to the holt and told the chief what had happened. After that she remained quite silent and emotionless for months. As she wasn’t yet an adult, her tribe mates offered her help and looked after her. Yet most of the time she spent in solitude, trying to figure out what to feel. Even though Bloodcut lived in a holt filled with elves, her cub life had been all around her father. She had been like her father’s shadow; going where-ever he went. The only exceptions had been when Windrun went out to hunt with the other hunters or she had stayed behind to train on her own while Windrun had run some errands.
One morning she woke up with the sudden feeling of utter loneliness which almost overwhelmed her. With it came the sudden need of elf-contact and having other elves physically close to her. That morning Bloodcut left her lonely den with a big smile and eyes gleaming. In her mind, she thought she needed to look happy and alright for the other elves to feel comfortable around her. Her tribe mates were surprised by this sudden change and felt worried but after days went past and Bloodcut kept her appearance of mirth and growing eagerness in the ever nearing adulthood, they believed she was really okay.
After reaching the age of 73 Bloodcut joined in a hunting. At first she went with the flow and felt quite at ease with her father’s training backing her up. But the whole event turned uncomfortable and unbearable for her. Her world turned messy and caused her to make a mistake, which resulted in hurting a tribe mate. It was nothing bad and no one blamed her for it. After all it had been Bloodcut’s first hunt with the hunting group. Still, she was left with the feeling of responsibility. Not once has she done hunting since then. It isn’t just the mistake, but she hates it how the whole situation had made her feel and not feel. With no desire to ever hunt, Bloodcut quit the training exercises she had kept on with after her father’s death. The only think she kept on practicing was controlling her body.
Bloodcut had been trained to be a hunter but, with things as they were, that wouldn’t happen. In fear of becoming dead weight for the tribe with no talents to offer, she sought the apprenticeship of the holt’s weaver. With her nimble fingers she learned quickly. But somehow that didn’t seem enough to Bloodcut. Without realizing she sought for more attention by teaching herself dancing and playing ocarina. An entertainer was bound to get some attention. Now she’s eager to learn playing other instruments and study further the art of dancing. Bloodcut has also memorized many of the stories she has heard.
After many turns passed someone called her Bloodcut for the fun of it and the nick name spread in the holt. At some point most of the elves called her that and she changed her name to it.
Bloodcut had reached the age of 309 when her tribe was attacked by humans. As far as Bloodcut knows only few survived. She had been quick to get out of the way of the attack. After a week or so of wandering alone she met with Rainblossom and her brothers Firecry and Whitefeather. Together they sought for a new place to live, during which Whitefeather was killed by a lightning. It took them 12 turns to come upon the elves of the Branch of Stars. They were taken in by this new tribe. Now Bloodcut has been with the Branch of Stars for the period of 6 turns.

Bond Beast:
Name: Shinefur
Age: 9
Gender: Male
Race: Wolf
Personality: Shinefur is a wolf suited for a hunter. He has high endurance and top-notch smelling sense. He likes to run around, hardly finding time to be still. Shinefur would’ve been perfect for Calmwind (the cub Bloodcut) but not so for Bloodcut. The hunting eagerness of the young wolf sometimes stirs something inside Bloodcut. At these times Bloodcut sends him out of sight, sometimes even rather rudely. Shinefur and Bloodcut’s relationship is a difficult one, for both of them.
Appearance: Shinefur has a light grey fur. He has white around his eyes, on belly and a stripe which starts at the base of his neck and goes all the way to the end of his tail.
