"We should check if we have enough food and water", Tracker spoke up, "I noticed a small brook earlier, judging by the terrain it is very well possible that it has meandered al the way to here or at least not far from here. He stood up. The short rest had done him good. "If we decide to move on from here, we should fill our waterskins first. I will go now and try to find the brook and get water. If you have an empty waterskin, I can take it along. Does someone want to come along?"

Silvereyes looked to Gale nodding and feeling weak. She felt a jostling at her side and looked down surprised to have forgotten the sleeping puppies in her leather pouch she had made. The looked over to Tracker. "Yes, here, take mine too please." She wanted to add something but her mind was still in shock from all the disasters happening one after another.
She sighed, taking a step over to the wolves as she sat down letting the batch of cubs in her pouch go free to their Mother to feed. They seemed to have such energy. She smiled some and held a hand at her own throat as flashes of near death took over her mind.
It made her shiver in sadness. Shaking her head she looked around. She got back to her feet walking back to the ones moving over to the mound. "I have a little bit of some dried meat. Three fists full, if anyone is hungry, and you Tracker? If you need it or anyone else."
She put one strip in her own teeth and set the rest in a unfurled hide down on the ground to share it. She took the time to rest as Gale suggested, but got up to help when needed. She too was starting to feel a bit better with the meat she was chewing on and the little watch she drank from when she first woke up.

"You are too kind", Tracker smiled at Silvereyes, as he took her waterskin, "But no thank you. I have enough. Also, I will keep my eyes open for game, on my way to the stream." He walked around to see if there was anyone else who wanted to refill their waterskin, before he left.

"Thank you, Gale," Dawngazer said, before beginning the not to challenging task of putting furs in a circle. She assumed Gale would follow her lead - too tired to check if he actually did. Dawngazer caught the eyes of the cubs and the adults minding them at this moment, silently urging them toward the center of the ring she was making.
Hearing Tracker's offer of filling waterskins, Dawngazer took a moment to catch his attention as well. "I could use more water," she said, too tired to be careful around the Child of the Oaks. "Could you take my waterskin too?"

"I could go with you," Longsong offered to Tracker, after he'd caught his breath. He wanted to stay and see to his injured lifemate, yes, but that would leave him to get underfoot when the healers worked. Best to keep an eye on the Children of the Oaks present - especially the ones going off on their own.
That he himself wasn't in the best shape didn't occure to him to reflect over. They all likely felt half-dead after a run like that, injuries or no injuries. Who was he to complain?

Branchwalker more or less collapsed in a heap as soon as they all came to a stop. Wolves could only carry riders for so long, after all, and he'd always been more at home in the trees than on the ground. Though honestly it was the realization sinking in of what had happened more than any physical exhaustion that knocked him to his knees.
Eyes pinched shut in horror he did his best to keep what remained of his last meal from spilling over the grass. He took deep breaths through his nose until the urge to scream and retch subsided - though it didn't go away completely. He opened his eyes and spotted Dawngazer not far away, looking as tired as him but alive. The blood pounding in his ears made him deaf to what she was saying to the group at large. He glanced around those gathered, only seeing half of the faces before him.
~**Sunsleaf?**~ he lock-sent, hoping for a reply. They'd been fleeing in such desperation that he wasn't sure he could trust in his memory. He could recall her close by as they ran, but... ~**Sunsleaf?**~

With his arms full of furs, Gale urged Quicksand to the circle Dawngazer was making. "You'll be safe here", he promised his cub, "We won't let anyone near you." Gale added the furs to the circle. He eyed Tracker suspiciously. His waterskin needed to be filled, but he didn't trust the Children of the Oaks-elf as far as he could throw him, which was not far at the moment.

"Of course", Tracker told Dawngazer and took her waterskin. He looked at Longsong, who offered to accompany him. "You are welcome to come", he answered, "Are you sure you are able to?" The elf looked half-dead and although Tracker was in better shape than the other, he wouldn't be able to drag the elf back to the group should he collapse.

Returning a smile to Tracker, Silvereyes lowered her hand to her side then set what she had to the circle of furs for others to claim. To those or the one collecting water skins, she gladly handed hers to them. Looking around, things were starting to feel normal again, even if for just a moment. Her eyes suddenly shifted sharply to the wolves...were they calm?!! Then she sighed with relief, watching the surroundings. even at a calm state, her "normal" has become tragedy. How had this gotten so wrong all of a sudden. Trolls...then elves attacking us and then...we run for our lives yet again...(sigh). She thought to herself shaking her head looking out to the edges of the clearing once more. If she had had the strength to move as a hunter or run any more, she would leave with Tracker, but her will is broken at the moment.
She could hear voices around her, and behind her as she faced away from the others to keep watch. Just to be sure none of the Mad elves caught up to them. The Wolves would be the first to give a sign if they had. They seemed calm for the most part and the Mother wolf nursing her young. Silvereyes watched as a Falcon glides over head chased by three Ravens. She smiled..."That is the normal I used to know." She said idly to herself. She lowered her gaze as she realized things were quiet and looked at the flowers around the clearing. She picked one from the ground holding it in her fingers and stood watching again. Calm was trying to settle in her, in spite of her deeper underlined fear.
Silvereyes was thankful some were not leaving to hunt and seek water. It gave her some security and at the same time, worry for those who were leaving. Seeing Branchwalker, feeling his distress and her own making it so easy to sense, she empathized. She wished she could help, but how? She bit her lower lip, walked over to him and offered the flower to him. "You look worried. Is there something I can do for you?" She offered. She was not sure of her own state of mind and kept a few steps back encase he was panicking.
Gale was looking uneasy too. Silvereyes was not beside herself with grief presently. This realization mixed her emotions. She holds no ill will to the new comers. She is just feeling alone in her pain, though she can see those around her hurting just as much. What she really wanted was Chrystal to hold her, to say it was going to be okay in no time. She missed his voice, his warmth, his love. Her eyes betrayed her numbness as tears welled in her eyes and she dropped the flower to the ground to cover her eyes and dropped to her knees while sitting on her heels. the tears came, she could not stop them. She was beyond her limit in grief now and it held her in place of Crystal. It was too much.
Realizing this, she got up and ran off into the woods away from the others suddenly. She did not know what she was doing. She did not go far before she came to a fallen tree with richly covered green moss and sat there weeping into her arms that now rest on her upwardly drawn knees, face hidden. Feeling her own panic had startled her to run. She let the grief morph from silent pain into low whaling and tears. Her heart was breaking as flashes of everything filled her tear soaked eyes and throbbing head.
The stress was needing to escape her tiny form. Suddenly scream-shouting, "HIGH ONES...(sob)...Be DAMNED!!!" She cried then buried her head in her knees and arms again continuing to weep heavily, shaking and shivering in her distrust and anger of everything she knew as good being stolen away repeatedly. **Chrystal...I miss you, Beloved! I miss you so much, It pains me knowing you are gone!** She said in an open send, as if he could hear her and might reply.
((OOC: Go after her or not, She will return shortly, once she is wept her pain away somewhat.))

Rockclimber followed the group to a stop, and immediately began whining. Cloudbird coughed, agony streaking across her side, a pale spray of blood further coloring the wolf's fur. **I - think I may be more gravely injured than I thought.** Her mind-voice was ragged with pain, and she was suddenly sure that while, outwardly, she only sported cuts and rapidly darkening bruises, something inside had broken. She reached out with her mind for Eveningsky and Morning-Glow, a wordless cry for help as her vision swam and she almost lost her grip on her bond's pelt.
**Sunsleaf? I think I need help.** The Elder's voice changed, from pained to delirious, the rapid ride for their lives having aggravated her injuries, her mind now unfocused as she slid, uncontrolled, off of the wolf and onto the ground.
Once more, she tried reaching for Morning-Glow, but instead of words, her send professed only confusion and faded pain.

Alarmed, Eveninglight looked up as SilverEyes sped away. She hesitated a moment and then followed the other. It didn't take long for Eveninglight to find her friend, overcome by emotions. She knelt besided SilverEyes, wrapping her arms around her. She couldn't help the tears flowing from her eyes as she too wept, mourning over all they had lost.

Silvereyes heard someone coming near, she did not look knowing it was the steps of an elf. She waited till they came close. She peeked over her arms seeing it was a friend who was also weeping. Silvereyes twisted some, then shifted to hug her friend. She did not know what to say, just letting the tears fall between them. After a while Silvereyes sent openly to Eveninglight. **Thank you friend. I am starting to feel a bit better, how are you?**

With her hand, Eveninglight wiped away some of the tears thay stained her cheeks. A last sob escaped her lips and she hing her head. She sighed and wiped her eyes once more, than looked up at SilverEyes. "A bit better too, I think.", she said with a small smile.

Morning-Glow and Evening-Fall had kept to the tail of the group, looking out for pursuers and making sure no one was left behind. It had been quiet for some time. There were no signs that there were others after them. Sweat ran down Morning-Glow's temples. He was amazed by the endurance of the survivors. Despite the injuries, all had survived the long chase.
His attention got a new focus when he felt Cloudbird. The elfess was in bad shape. He carefully made his way among the exhausted elves to reach Cloudbird. She had come down from the wolf's back, standing unsteadily. He wanted to rush to support her, but be was painfully aware of all the strangers around him, and how in truth, he was the stranger. Yes, he had seen into the soul of Cloudbird. Yes, she had reached out to him, more than once since their eyes met. But would his touch be welcome? Not only to her, but to these elves around them. His own tribemates had just chased these wounded elves away. He stopped a step short from Cloudbird. ~**I'm here.**~ Her condition looked bad. She needed healing. He wished to call for Waterfall but that had not worked out well the past time. ~**Where are you hurt?**~

Post by One-Edge on Aug 15, 2017 3:49:29 GMT 1
One-Edge had first attempted to run, but the fighting had worsened her previously healing leg injury. Added to that, her left arm was uselessly hanging, making it hard to balance her run. The strange elfess Bloodcut had offered One-Edge to ride her bond, Shinefur. Softpaws was hardly standing, there was no way One-Edge could've ridden her. One-Edge had been obliged to take up the offer, and had since then been riding on Shinefur. The wolf halted, tired, along with the rest of the group. One-Edge knew the wolf needed rest. She pushed herself off, falling on the ground. She didn't attempt to get up. She was in bad shape, and she knew it. The wound on her side had stopped bleeding somewhere on the way, but it was dirty, hurting bad. Shinefur's nuzzle touched her cheek. She smiled weakly to the wolf. "Thank you." she whispered in a voice that could not be heard. The wolf then moved away. She was worried about Softpaws. She was worried about the puppies. But she had no strength to keep a coherent thought in her mind.
