About this Holt
This Holt is home to survivors of a bird/wolf-blooded Holt that was attacked by trolls. They're now wandering the world looking for allies to bring back to free their captured kin (taken by trolls) and to find a new home. Elves of all kinds of blood are welcome, but there's a limited number of wanderers per Holt year.
The RPG itself is based on the world of Elfquest. Some knowledge of these comics are needed to understand what the game is about. Luckily the comics are all up free on the official website!
This is how you join:
1) Read the Rules.
2) Read "How we roleplay".
3) Decide what kind of elf you want to play:
- Adoptables.
These characters are elves that someone else already has created and/or played. If you choose to play an adoptable character, read through their CIS (Character Information Sheet) carefully. Some of the information on the adoptables’ CIS might be missing or written only as a “-“. That means that you, the adopter, get to fill in whatever you like there (for example: you might get to choose your adopted characters’ eye color or weapons). These additions will be judged and – if they're not too impossible – approved.
Available adoptables can be found here.
If the elf doesn't have a full CIS, you're free to write said CIS! Link to how to fill out a CIS here. Just remember to keep things consistent with what info there already has been about the character in-game (see the Timeline for quick info of where you can read about each character).
- Wanderers.
Elves that just happen to meet the survivors' small tribe. Wanderers can only meet the main group three times each in-game year and a maximum of three tribes of a certain animal-blood can exists, unless circumstances are very well explained. There can be more than three tribes of pureblooded elves. This is to keep the world somewhat consistent and to keep elves from raining down from the sky If you want to make a wanderer, from a new or already mentioned tribe, please first bring it up in the "Looking to join?" thread so we can figure out when and how they'd run into the survivors. Be aware that it might take a bit of game-time for your wanderer to be able to join the group.
Tribes that count as wanderers are:
- Elves of the Frozen Lands (fox-bloods and elk-bloods, original home of BrightStar & ClearIce) LINK TBA
- High Stream Holt (wolf-bloods, original home of Sunsleaf & Sureshot) LINK TBA
- Riverbench Holt (wolf-bloods, destroyed Holt, original home of Bloodcut, Firecry & Rainblossom) LINK TBA
- Tribe we've visited.
The survivors stumble upon other elf tribes from time to time. When that happens all players will have the option to create and play one or more elves from that tribe. These elves can then either be left with their tribe when the survivors part with them or choose to join the survivors in their quest. They can also be "traded" for old characters. If you grow tired of your first elf, why not let them stay with this new tribe and create a new elf to play instead?
The 'other tribe' is currently: Children of the Oaks
(If you're filling out a Character Information Sheet/CIS fully or partially, read "CIS" and "Statistics" too.)
4) When you’re done choosing and/or making your character, post in the "Looking to join?" thread. You might be asked to make some changes or add something to your character’s CIS. If you'd rather chat with the members first and/or ask for help, post in "A place to say hi" first
Info to include in your reply to the "Looking to join?" post:
- Your elf's CIS, if you've made an elf from scratch or added info to an existing CIS.
- What name should I use for you in our list of members?
- How much of the information on the forum have you read?
- If you should leave, what do you want to happen to your elf/elves? Put up for adoption, killed off, or have them disappear?
