Claw blinked, as if she'd received a sending from someone alongside Wasp. Her grin widened. ~**Oh my challenge had a meaning all right. Why don't you follow those running beasts and see what's going on over by the supply tent one of their animals stole from us. I think you'll be surprised by what you find.**~
Dawngazer held on tight to Stronglegs and they were off, racing towards Eveningsky. ::Remember your mate,:: Dawngazer sent to Stronglegs, pushing to redirect his anger. ::Danger. Go help.:: It worked. Stronglegs kept running, uncaring of Morning-Glow, heading toward the tent where he'd left Softpaws.

~**Hmm... interesting**~, Wasp replied, ~**Well, have fun with your little flearidden friends here then. I´ll go take a look. It better be worth it**~ She turned on her heels and headed in the direction where she had also seen Hale and Evening-Fall go. On her way there, Wasp had to jump out of the way of Eveninglight and her bond Shade when they hurried past, back to the tents together with Silvereye and Branchwalker. She cursed loudly, but the elves paid her no heed. *They really are but animals*, Wasp thought with an angry frown upon her face. *Not even paying attention to where someone else is going*

Soon Silvereyes stopped outside the tents. "I will stand guard if you two wish to find the stone?" ~**The Pure blood snakes will not strike against us again - not on my watch.**~ She swore to Branchwalker and Eveninglight.
Spotting Hale and Evening-fall who already had traveled a bit away from the tents, Silvereyes shouted after them: "Halt! What are you up to? Did that False High One send you? What do you all want?" The Lass said not happy to see they had been fallowed after, and then she saw Wasp. They did not look to be mischief makers but she had been fooled by the Oaks Elves too many times. This time she raised her cocked arrow pointing it in the direction of the two elves heading for the tents. She kept an eye on Wasp as well.

Featherbird half-collapsed against Wishpond, shaking from relief and the exertion of using magic. Dear High Ones, what was that? How did I do that? The shimmer faded.
Cloudbird watched until the wolf was well away before moving. She turned to offer Morning-Glow a hand, a look of apology on her face. "High Ones, I'm sorry. Are you all right?" She glanced back over her shoulder at Claw, still wary.
With a sigh, rubbing her temples, Cloudbird turned back to look at the other elf. She offered a slight smile, and then their eyes locked. For a moment, she stopped breathing. It felt like falling, and she was drowning in green - rich, leafy green, like the home she'd left behind. Her heart skipped a beat and she felt it, tugging at her stomach, in her mind, as she sent almost involuntarily, ~**Sviik?**~

As Cloudbird got up, Morning-Glow took the chance to sit up and sheathe his daggers. He took the offered hand and got up. "It's fine." He murmured back, feeling a bit absent-minded. The movement of the elfess's head made Morning-Glow look up to her. He could not see the smile. It was everything else was blurred for a fraction of second except for the deep blue eyes of Cloudbird. The strangest of feelings passed him. The soft gust of wind, the caress of waves, the sweetness of dreamberries. All the best parts of life at the same time, all distinct, all mushed up in blessed chaos. The feeling that life had suddenly started again, after over two millenia. And then he heard it. That one most secret word that nobody had known, no one had ever called him. Only when he heard it, he was washed away with the feeling of years of desiring to hear it, and finally having that most sacred wish come true.
For the first time in longer than he could remember, he was caught off-guard. For a fleeting moment he was vulnerable, yet at the same time as safe as inside his mother's womb. And the whispers. He heard it, like an on-coming headache, but that of a sweet temper. The echoes of a distant call, creeping closer and closer. He could not voice it, he dared not to. But it flowed from his mind to that one mind open next to his. The only word that could be more sacred than his own Soulname; her Soulname.
In that moment, everything else was forgotten.

"False High One?". Hale was confused, "No, we were sent here by nobody, but our own choice. What's this about a High One? There are no High Ones alive, surely you must know that." She showed her open and empty hands, trying to convince Silvereyes they meant no harm."Please", she pleaded, "We were just on our way to see if we could help your people."
Taking out her throwing knives, Wasp approached. "You were not thinking about atacking my tribesmates, were you she-wolf?", she asked Silvereyes threateningly and positioned herself between between Silvereyes' arrow and the distant figures of Evening-Fall and Hale. Even if they were soft-hearted fools, the beast-blooded better not harm them. "If you want to fight, you can fight me. That would be fun. I'd like to see you bleed.", she spat. Her fiery eyes locked with Silvereyes. "Come on then. Fight me, you filth."
(ooc: I feel so bad about Was being so mean!)

(ooc: I'm kinda confused right now too... Sorry... As far as I understand things now, Silvereyes got caught up with Evening-Fall, Hale and Wasp on her way back to the tents and Eveninglight has gone ahead or something... Hope I got it right)
Eveninglight only nodded in thanks to Silvereyes, rushing past her. She dashed into the tent where Longsong slept. At Greyspear´s command she and Shade had run back to the tents as fast as he could, almost knocking over one of the pure blooded elves on their way. If she´d had the time, she would have laughed about it. But there was no time. Lives of elves and wolves depended on finding Longsong´s crystal as quick as possible. There, this was where Longsong slept. "Where is his bag?", Eveninglight muttered under her breath as she searched.

((Ooc: No worries))
Silvereyes glared with numbness then her emotions changed as she had been given a moment to just let go. Wasp was speaking but Silvereyes was no longer hearing those words. The Wolf blood in her had grown tired of all the pain and dark emotions and finally as her bow and arrow lowered she started to laugh low at first. Her head hung as she watched the tree before her. Her emotions had a madness about it. Her laughter got a bit louder as she could not stop laughing.. She finally covered her belly it hurt to laugh so hard then she dropped her bow and all; covering her mouth with the other hand. As she calmed down, she smiled looking up to Wasp.
"Still the Viper in the tall grass on a perfectly hot but shady day, eh, Wasp?" She bent over grasping her bow and arrow with a sigh as she stood up right again, now with a grin. "I am tired of your games. I am tired of your Kin. Yes, there is a High One back at the tents where we left our wolf cubs for safety but your False high One came and took them as hostages for a useless stone and then sent us to look for it or he will kill the cubs." Silvereyes was gaining her thoughts again more clearly getting all that pinned up emotion out. "To you Wasp. I am filthy right now, but at least I am not spitting venom at innocent Folk." Eveing-Fall and Hale, help me if you wish by making sure no one enters this tent till that thing is found. That is all the help we need at the moment. Silvereyes was ignoring Wasp.
((Ooc: Ps, Sofia might want this changed, I am not sure yet. See what she says after she works out the mix up and to Sasa, Thanks for letting me know. I am realizing I am confused on who is who, and stuff but I am trying to keep up with it all as I do visit the web site to match a name to art and bio of that named elf and I guess I should see what bond, if any they may or may not ride to keep em all less confusing for me, heh. Sorry. Lastly, Gerlin, I was waiting for the owner of Branchwalker to post, but maybe the problem is fixed? Sasa seemed to make it clear to me who the three "evening elves" are and such. I will make a note of that tonight for the future. Thanks Ladies.))

((OOC: Hopefully things are easier to follow now! And Branchwalker's owner would be me. Dawngazer is no longer in this thread, just so everyone is clear. I'll have her enter the "Watch for Wolves" thread tomorrow.))
Branchwalker, still out of breath from the panic and the run back from the horrific scene with the 'High One' and the wolf cubs, had a hard time searching through the bags inside the tent. Everything looked the same at the moment, scents becoming tangled in one-another. And then there was angry voice outside... "Keep looking," he said to Eveninglight, "I'll go outside and see if Silvereyes needs help." Despite the importance of the crystal he couldn't leave Silvereyes to fend for herself against the mad Children of the Oaks. And he wasn't doing much good searching at the moment. Stepping outside Branchwalker was stunned to see an unarmed Silvereyes facing off against Wasp. And furhter off he spotted Cloudbird and the elf Morning-Glow just staring at each other. Unable to help himself, he shouted: "What is going on here?!"
Claw sat and just watched, still guarded by Cloudbird's bond-friend. She made no move to get up or speak, just grinned to herself.

For a moment, although it seemed like eternity, Cloudbird drowned. She felt the Now of wolf thought taking over, a hunger starting deep in her belly, but a shout broke her unblinking stare. She shook her head to clear it, but still it lingered, that unsettling green, full of life and longing and memories long buried. No. No! Not one of them - they seek to destroy us, to send us out, how would another cub fare?
She swallowed, hard, and looked away. She could feel his eyes on her and they burned, oh, they burned - sweetly intense, alluring, but she wouldn't give in. Not now. It was not the Way, she knew, but she couldn't afford to lose her head to this - not now, while her tribe was in danger.
Out of the corner of her eye, Cloudbird saw Claw. Grinning. "That conniving little she-" she growled low under her breath, Rockclimber's barely-leashed anger helping to dull the intensity of Recognition, and she whirled, stalking back to the elfess she had defeated. "What do you know? What have you done to us?" Her hands curled into sharp claws, and she barely restrained herself. "Why?"

"You hold no sway over me, beast," Claw answered Cloudbird, looking perfectly at ease where she sat. In fact, she looked more at ease for each heartbeat that passed, as if she'd spent the time after the challenge swallowing handfulls of dreamberries. Her gaze had an unfocused quality to it. "The High One will reward me for my services. You can do nothing to me now. Your corruption will be stopped and I will finally be recognized for what I truly am." She didn't seem to hear Branchwalker's shouted demand to know what was happening. She simply grinned up at Cloudbird, the expression having turned from mocking to almost friendly.

As Cloudbird moved away, to Claw, Morning-Glow shook his head, as if to shake the complex sensation away. *This can't be happening...* Could there have been a worse moment? In mere couple of days the simple lives of his tribemates had gone upside down. This was beyond anything even he could have dealt in ease. There was a hammering in his head, like the painful music, that increased as the distance grew, the distance between him and the elfess, whose images now hunted his mind. He took a deep breath. There were much more pressing issues going on, right around him, that called for his attention. With a great effort he thought back on what had just barely not escaped his ears. Wasp trying to start a fight, and the elfess laughing it off. Talks about a High One, from the elfess and Claw. What is all this talk of a High One? And it has the wolf pups? As if the situation wasn't eccentric enough without bodily urges and overwhelming sensations running inside him.
He strode to Wasp and prevented her from doing her next move. Although he could not prevent her tongue. "Wasp, take a step back. This is not the moment." He was not being forceful on the young lass, but there was a sternness in his movements and voice that could not leave Wasp in doubt that he wouldn't stop her if she tried to do something. Even with part of his mind continuously reaching out, unvoluntary, towards Cloudbird, he wouldn't have any trouble overpowering Wasp if needed. The advantage of close to two millennium more experience. He gazed over to Silvereyes and Branchwalker. "I'm as uninformed as you, and maybe even more so." As an afterthought to himself he added. "What stone could be so important to bring out a High One?" But there was someone who seemed to have answers. He wanted to go after Hale and Evening-Fall, to the food storage tents where so much seemed to be happening. But he could not leave Wasp with these elves on a mission. And even less could he leave Cloudbird with Claw. "Featherfoot and Wishpond!" He called out to his tribemates. "Run to the Chiefs and let them know what is going on, if they don't know already."

Featherfoot nodded, swallowing hard, and took her friend's hand, tugging him insistently as she moved away from the chaos.
Cloudbird's hands clenched and Rockclimber answered her unspoken anger with a threatening growl. She sent next, for her anger closed her throat to words. **You are nothing but a she-snake! You would condemn the young and the sick to death for praise from - a High One?** Her utter disbelief rang soundly in the open send. **The High Ones would never command such a horror! Never!** She could not believe such a foul thought.
Despite the pull of Recognition, her anger and fear, feeding in an endless loop through her bond, clouded her vision and her mind. She could feel her control of the wolf slipping, despite his tendency towards sweetness. She could feel the turmoil in his mind; this elf had threatened his elf friend, and now was, somehow, related to the danger of the cubs. Desperately, the young elfess reached for the only thing that could keep her stable, that could keep control of the grey beast beside her - the elf near her, his presence hot in her mind, his soul name beating at the inside of her skull. ~**Sviik, help me. Please.**~ Her send, desperate and angry and afraid, was the only thing keeping her and her wolf from tearing out Claw's throat.

~**Thank you**~ Morning-Glow sent to Featherfoot and Wishpond as they took off. The chiefs should know if there was a High One present, and that seemed to be true. Cloudbird's open sending, the opinion on High Ones, made Morning-Glow think of Waterfall. If it was true, that a High One was threatening elves, elves that were in low shape, how would Waterfall take the news? Would she believe them capable or would it destroy her faith, which ran so strong in her? He didn't have much time for his friend when Cloudbird's plead reached him. Again she had called him by his soulname, acknowledging what had taken place between them. He wanted to rush to her side and lift her up in his arms, but he couldn't, he wouldn't. ~**Calm, Kemi, calm.**~ If Morning-Glow was good at something other than hunting, it was to be calm. Not much hazed him. In his sending he shared that calmness that the turns of sun and moons had brought him. He gently layered it over the anger he felt in the elfess' mind. ~**Your anger will only fuel Claw's mirth.**~ With other part of his mind, he reached for Evening-Fall and asked him to share what was going on over his side.

Silvereyes rolled her eyes and shook her head. "One of your kin had the gruff to challenge my Sire and tribe. My Sire's Champion drew first blood. My sire and tribe have never done such a dishonorable thing as to bleed another elf. It is not OUR way. ((Deep sigh)) My Kin do not understand your blood lust. I will not fight you Wasp. My kin and our wolf bonds and their cubs are priceless to us." Silvereyes turned away from Wasp now, seeing Cloudbird tending to the mad seeming Elfess.
In fact, feeling the pressure of time not on their side, Silvereyes tugged gingerly at the arm of Branchwalker to fallow inside the tent. "Come on, let's help Eveninglight and hurry back as soon as possible, please?" Silvereyes let go of his arm rushing inside to aid Eveninglight as best as she could, first checking things were the other lass had already checked and then moved closer to help look around in other places near where he slept too.
Silvereyes looked back to the opening of the tent to both see if Branchwalker had been looking too or was still by the entrance or if anyone else had entered after her then she looked to Eveinglight to see if she had found anything yet before returning to look for anything looking like a bag belonging to her tribe mate that might carry a stone inside. Her mind drifted to Her Sire and the others in danger. she hoped they could return quickly.
