OOC: This is a thread that takes place parallell to "The Day of Games - The Survivors' Thread" and will merge with that in a bit. Elves present here are: Brightstar, Childwolf, Clearice, Gale, Haze, Lizardstalker, Quicksand, Redstreak, Riv, Squirrel, Sunsleaf, Treebreeze. To see who's injured and how, read this thread. I'll be moving the elves without clear players/tempers until their players/tempers are decided. Also, I'll be moving Treebreeze a little since his player hasn't posted once in the game yet. Tag Aphrael! IC:Haze had watched Silvereyes leave with his heart in his throat. He had to trust that Greyspear and the others could keep her safe and stop her from doing anything foolish. "Why didn't you go with her?" Haze asked Treebreeze that was standing close by. "My sister is strong," Treebreeze answered, "and she'll be with father. You, on the other hand, are still too weak to defend yourself. Don't you agree?" The last he said to Sunsleaf. She if anyone would know how badly off his uncle was. "Besides, I don't think I'm strong enough to be of help out there just yet. We'll have to trust our pack, right?" BrightStar shuffled around in their furs, but were still asleep. He looked to have caught a fever during the night and was twisting and turning like there were ants in this sleeping furs, but he was definitely out for the count. His brother ClearIce sat close to him, looking beyond worried and not speaking to anyone. Gale was sitting next to Redstreak, who might have been feeling better but hadn't recovered fully, stroking the boy's hair and trying to keep an eye on Quicksand. ~**I hope our daughter isn't foolish enough to go looking for adventure today,**~ he lock-sent to Squirrel, his mind voice filled with fear and amusement all mixed into one. His back still ached. Sunsleaf had had a look at it the night before, but a second check felt to be close at hand. Childwolf was feeling better - after all his head injury was more than a moon old, though it had been made worse by their traveling - but had stayed in the tent to keep Lizardstalker out of trouble. The hostilities outside were no place for a cub to be.

Sunsleaf looks at Haze and Treebreeze, she tries to smile reassuringly. "He is strong, perhaps stronger than you give him credit for, but none of this sits well with me and I would much prefer none of you put your progress to the test. Add to this that he is a stubborn wolf and not the best patient and he may not be as ready as he thinks." She stomps a foot, "I would like nothing better than to knock all their hard heads together! Puckernuts, the lot of them!" She resumes packing and rolling sleep furs, tucking possessions into the packs of their owners, "May nettles riddle their furs and breeches," she mutters vehemently under her breath.

"I hope you mean those Children of the Oaks and not us," Haze said to Sunsleaf, in an attempt at humor. "My head aches enough without you knocking it against anyone's and it would ruin all your hard work of getting me back on my feet." Not that he was badly injured, but exhaustion and dehydration were bad enough.
Treebreeze shook his head at Haze. "Uncle, I think you lost your ability to make jokes along with all the water you haven't been drinking enough of," he said in an attempt at playfulness. "Do we have anything more to drink?" he asked Sunsleaf. "The tea, is there any left of it?"

Sunsleaf blushed slightly, "Yes, them... This whole..." She gestures toward the entry, "all this is wrong. They tell us to go and then they contrive to keep us here. It bodes ill, I don't like it one bit. I feel it like I feel a plant I've never seen is good or bad. I can't explain, I just...." She kicks at rolled furs and grumbles. "We, and these furs should be on our wolves and moving away from here. Instead we are scattered out there," she gestures again toward the entrance, "and we should all be together."
Squirrel looks up from the pile of fur she is rolling up for all those not present, her gaze moves toward her cubs and her lips press together. Those self righteous elves out there would have to go through her to get her cubs.
Sunsleaf knelt beside BrightStar and lay her wrist against his forehead, she sighs and reaches into her bag sorting through for the right herb. finding it she carefully tucks some into his cheek against his gums. He should be healing better, she would have to change the herb mix she'd been giving him.

~**No one will hurt our cubs, beloved**~, Gale sent to Squirrel. Even without the bond their souls shared, her gaze told him her feelings. ~**I won't let that happen**~ Every bit of strenght of will and love he felt, Gale put into his sending. No one would ever hurt fis family again. There were finally together again and they would stay together.

Squirrel glanced at Gale, she could feel his love and the strength of his determination, but the events had locked her heart and she was having so much trouble unlocking it. She felt so guilty for that, she wanted to be able to reach for him the way he was open to her.

As Sunsleaf knelt by BrightStar, a very tall elf suddenly appeared out of thin air, kneeling on his other side. "I'll be taking these," he said, one hand on BrightStar's arm, the other on ClearIce's. And when the tall elf vanished a heartbeat later, BrightStar and ClearIce vanished with him.
Outside the tent Prongs and the two foxes could be heard stirring. They suddenly rushed off - either running away from or after something.
OOC: BrightStar and ClearIce have officially been fake-High-One-napped!

Silvereyes moved as fast as possible feeling every bruise newly made on her nagging pain into her muscles and joints. She slashed and punched and bit anyone of the mad murderers that got close enough. Making into the tents alive had not been easy, but she had managed. She ran to her kin hugging them firmly not able to hold back tears but also, no time to explain.
"You heard, we need to only take what can be carried by hand or body, all else, stays behind, all of you, muster all you have got, this will not be easy. We must flee yet again. with that Silvereyes kept watch till more help from kind eyes arrives while defending the wounded. She was trying to assess all that was happening around her as she took a moment to catch her breath. It was chaos every where it seemed.
((Sorry, I need time to read up in this thread as I need much slept right now. I'll read you guys tomorrow, G'nite!))

((Ok, got sucked in and am caught up....))
Ic: Silvereyes looked around noticing as she looked back at the wounded and those on the mend...Something was definitely off. "Wait...Where is Clear Ice and Brightstar? Did they leave? what is happening?"
She asked distracted now but the faces of her loved ones. She had gotten so distracted she stopped watching the entrance as she started to walk over to the others looking at the two now empty cots.

Gale's face fell when his beloved sent him nothing more than just a fleeting glance. Squirrel had pushed him away again. He tried and tried, but she lately she hardly ever shared her feelings with him anymore.
He didn't have much time to ponder on it more. A tall elf appeared, a High One?!, and took away ClearIce and BrightStar. Gale didn't know how to react and what to think. It all happened so fast! Perhaps the High One had chosen to take them straight to the Palace? That couldn't be bad, right? But then why was his heart beating so hard in fear? And why was he so worried that the High One might return and take his cubs and his beloved too?
Then SilverEyes came rushing into the tent. "A High One took them", he informed her, "He just appeared out of nowhere." In sending he shared what had just happened with the silvereyed maiden.

Silvereyes scoffed. "THAT tall one is NO HIGH ONE...No High One would harm cubs and choke our Longsong. That filth dares cross us and about the the mad elves...I bed most likely that his hands are bloody in that mess. The False High One will pay, but for now, I came to help move you all to safety, only...I am unsure where to go to be safe in this madness in the nest of Mad-elves that wish to kill us. Any ideas?"
She was speaking in disdain and spat after speaking of the tall one. She did not favor him at the first sight of him by her eyes. She went back to the entrance keeping out of sight but watching outside best as possible. She mind shared with images of the scenes she spoke of the mad elves and the Tall one's actions against the Wolf Riders.

Branchwalker, right behind Silvereyes, stumbled into the tent just in time to catch Gale's explanation of BrightStar and ClearIce's disappearance. Shaken to his core, Branchwalker followed Silvereyes' wordless summary of the situation with: "The Children of the Oaks have gone mad! I don't know if that was a High One or not, but whatever he is they attacked on his word and they won't stop!" He dove to the ground and began shoving things into every bag within reach. "We need to run! Grab what you can and run before he comes back!" He didn't want a repeat of the second troll ambush, with them being scattered like leaves by the wind, but he didn't feel strong enough to lead any organized escape. Desperate he looked up and locked eyes with Sunsleaf. She'd been his steady rock ever since he'd met her, steadier even than Dawngazer. Now he pleaded with his eyes, pleaded for her to take charge of the chaos, somehow.
Haze, Treebreeze and Childwolf got to work gathering belongings, after the initial shock of BrightStar's and ClearIce's disappearance had past. They were still shaken, but the Now helped them focus on the most important: escape.
Lizardstalker, Redstreak and even the usually overly brave Quicksand instead sought safety with Gale and Squirrel, trying to keep out of the way. "Are we going to disappear too?" Redstreak asked his parents, eyes shimmering with tears.

"No", Gale said, his arms around both children, " No one will take you away from us." It took all his strength to finally let go of them, his face was still ashen with shick and fear. He kissed them on top of their heads. "we must pack our belongings now. But stay close, stay very close. Understood?"
Hale approached the tent she knew the wounded elves lived. "Hello?", she called out, **Hello? Am I welcome?** She could image that they would like a Child of the Oaks near, with all that was going on right now. **I came to see if I could help in any way**, she offered.
